Maurice Sendak Wins Again

Author and illustrator Maurice Sendak, who has won numerous awards for his children's books, received another award this spring. He and Austrian author Austrian author Christine Noestlinger shared the first Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for Literature (see previous blog). According to The Globe and Mail newspaper, Sendak "was cited for his 'courageous exploration of the most secret recesses of childhood, to the delight of constant new readers.'"
