I have written before about the Children's Book Council (CBC) in the United States and all of the valuable resources on its website. I didn't realize until recently that there is also a Children's Book Council of Australia. While the nature of that organization seems somewhat different from the U.S. CBC, both organization are dedicated to promoting the enjoyment of books and both sponsor children's book awards. Both organizations also provide information and encouragement to authors and illustrators.
