Best 100 Canadian Books

Saturday October 11, 2003
The children's librarians of the Toronto Public Library have selected and put online what they feel are the "100 Best Canadian Books for Today's Children and Teens." The list includes cover art and a brief summary of each book. This is a tremendous resource. The list is divided into eight categories: Picture Books, Advanced Picture Books, Beginning and Early Readers, Folklore, Children's Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry, and Teen Fiction.

I have some Canadian authors listed in my Authors directory, and I have written about Canadian author Jean Little, but I'd be pleased to hear about the Canadian authors you and your children particularly like. Just post your recommendations on the About Children's Books Forum. recall recall
