Wednesday October 22, 2003
The latest Book Sense children's fiction report lists the bestsellers at independent bookstores across the nation for the week ending October 19, 2003. The number one book on the children's fiction list is A Series of Unfortunate Events #10: The Slippery Slope, by Lemony Snicket, published by HarperCollins. Number two is Eragon, by
Christopher Paolini, published by Knopf. "Holes," by Louis Sachar, two of Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants books, and three Harry Potter books are also listed in the top 15.
Several of you responded to the last Book Sense bestseller blog I posted. I hope you will read over the latest list and let me know which of these books you and your children have enjoyed. Just go to the About Children's Books Forum, click on "Post New" on the upper left and start a new discussion. Title it "10/19/03 Bestsellers." Once a new thread is started, others can add to it. recall recall
