Authors and Illustrators with January Birthdays

Thursday January 22, 2004
Here are the children's book authors and illustrators that I am aware of with January birthdays: Floyd Cooper and Marjorie Priceman (January 8), Max Grover (January 10), Clement Hurd (January 12), A.A. Milne (January 18), Vera Williams (January 28), and Bill Peet and Rosemary Wells (January 29). Our children loved Bill Peet because of his book "Capyboppy." It's the true story of the capybara who lived with the Peet family. Unlike most of Peet's books, which are picture books, "Capyboppy" is 62 pages long and is for intermediate readers. We discovered the book, which has many illustrations, just at the time our local zoo acquired a capybarra and that made it special for us. For more about "Capyboppy" and several of our other favorite Bill Peet books, see my Bill Peet Top Picks.

If you know of other children's book authors and illustrators with January birthdays, post them on the About Children's Books Forum.recall recall
