More Movie Versions of Children's Books Coming

According to ComingSoon.net, "The Hollywood Reporter" recently reported that Walden Media has acquired the rights to two children's books and has hired a script writer to adapt a third. The books are "Bridge to Terabithia," a Newbery Medal winner by Katherine Patterson, "Nim's Island," by Australian author Wendy Orr, and "The Giver," a Newbery Medal winner by Lois Lowry. I am eager to know when the movies will be produced but have been unable to locate that information. If you find out, please let me know.

The release date for the movie version of "Because of Winn-Dixie," a Newbery Honor Book by Kate DiCamillo, has been announced. It is August 13, 2004, according to Hollywood.com. recall recall
