In Praise of Tomie dePaola
Monday May 3, 2004
If you're a regular visitor to About Children's Books, you already know that one of my favorite children's book illustrators and authors is Tomie dePaola. He has written and/or illustrated more than 200 books for children. DePaola's official website features a monthly illustrated column by the author and artist, information on the creative process of writing and illustrating books, a bibliography of his books, and much more.
Since we probably won't have time to read them all, are there certain Tomie dePaola books that you consider "must reads" and want to recommend to the About Children's Books community? One of my favorites is "Oliver Button is a Sissy." What are yours? Please post your recommendations on the About Children’s Books Forum.
