Ice Cream, Animals, and Friends: Books for Summer Reading
Monday July 5, 2004
Have you reached that point in the summer when your children spend a lot of time complaining, "I'm bored. I have nothing to do."? Read my article about three children's books that will not only get them reading but will also encourage them to do something. The first, "The Cool Crazy Crickets," is for beginning readers while the second and third are for middle readers.
How do you keep your children reading through the summer? In our family, weekly trips to the public library and our children's involvement in the library's summer reading club kept them reading. What has worked for you or others you know? Join the discussion on the About Children's Books Forum.
