It's Time for School

Sunday August 15, 2004
If you have a child starting preschool, daycare, or kindergarten, or an elementary student going to a new school, you may find one or more of the following books helpful:
  • "First Day Jitters" (good for new teachers, elementary students)
  • "Little School" (good for three and four year olds)
  • Preparing for Kindergarten: "Sam and Gram and the First Day of School," "The Berenstain Bears Go to School," and "When You Go to Kindergarten."
You can find information about these books in my new directory, School Issues, in the Life Lessons / Issues section of About Children's Books. There you will also find other book reviews and booklists, many of which focus on preparing for school and the first day of school. The other directories in the Life Lessons / Issues section are Adoption, Bullies and Bullying; Death, Disease and Illness; Disabilities; Distress; Divorce; and Non-traditional Families.
