Lemony Snicket's "The Grim Grotto" released today

Tuesday September 21, 2004
Today is not only the first day of fall, it is also the release date of "The Grim Grotto," the eleventh in the wildly popular "A Series of Unfortunate Events" series by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler). In an article on the Star-Telegram website, staff writer Alyson Ward reports,
"The popularity of the series, which began in 1999, has spawned an entire genre of books for children. The bookstore shelves are filled with darkly humorous stories full of death, dread and devastation."
Among the other series that Ward mentions are "The Spiderwick Chronicles," "Edgar & Ellen," "Unlikely Exploits," and the "Pure Dead" series. For more about Lemony Snicket, see my earlier blog. Then, join the discussion about the series on the About Children's Books Forum.
