Bestselling Author Jacqueline Wilson Named Britain's Children's Laureate
Tuesday June 7, 2005
This has been a good year for British author Jacqueline Wilson. In February, Random House Children’s Books, her publisher since 1991, announced that Jacqueline Wilson has sold more than 20 million books in the UK, and that figure doesn't even include the United States and Canada. In May, Wilson was named the Children's Laureate, a prestigious honor, in recognition of her service to children through her books. Her fiction appeals to 7-15 year olds, particularly 8-11 year old girls.
