Scholastic to Provide Aid, Children's Books for Katrina victims

Saturday September 3, 2005
Scholastic, the largest publisher and distributor of children's books in the world, has announced several initiatives in support of Katrina victims. In addition to a monetary donation,
  • Scholastic Education and Scholastic Library Publishing divisions will make in-kind donations of books and other curriculum materials to local area schools receiving displaced students.
  • Recognizing that teachers and students throughout the country also want to help, Scholastic will coordinate school-based initiatives that will result in extensive donations of books during the long recovery and rebuilding effort ahead.
Scholastic is the American publisher of the Harry Potter series.
