Celebrate Black History Month with African American Heroes and Heroines

Wednesday February 1, 2006
Delivering Justice cover art I have added "Delivering Justice: W.W. Law and the Fight for Civil Rights" to my list of recommended children's books about African American Heroes and Heroines. Told in picture book format by Jim Haskins, with striking artwork by Benny Andrews, "Delivering Justice" is the dramatic account of the impact of one man's life on the civil rights movement. All of the children's books on my list not only provide an introduction to the lives of men and women your children should know about, they also provide an historical overview of the fight for civil rights waged by African Americans in the last several centuries.
