Harry Potter Book 7: What Will Happen to Harry?

Thursday March 2, 2006
What do you think will happen to Harry Potter in the seventh, and final, book in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series? There are several discussions about Harry Potter Book 7 going on in the Children's Books Forum and a lot of opinions being expressed about what might happen to Harry. For example, Lari states,
I think that Harry will have to sacrifice himself at the end of book seven in order to defeat Voldemort, and that Neville Longbottom will actually be the one to finish Voldemort off. Remember the prophecy; how both Neville and Harry share the same birthday... yet Voldemort chose Harry as his nemesis? Perhaps he was wrong?
What do you think? Post your opinion on the Children's Books Forum.

I think that Snape is really good, and because he took the unbreakable vow to help Malfoy, so he was forced to kill Dumbledore. Snape will save Harry I believe. Also I do think that Neville will play a big role in the defeat of Voldemort.
One thing that is more a hope that I don’t think will really happen is that Sirius Black will come back from behind the curtain, but again, that is just something that I want and not what I think really will happen.

Harry will defeat Voldemort, but I think Harry will make the ultimate sacrifice for his friends and wizardkind (muggles, too). Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of Harry. Ms. Rowling alluded to her Christian beliefs, so that can make for a very interesting ending. I believe Harry’s current friends will be loyal to the end but he’ll find a few NEW friends among his enemies. Sirius will be there for him, but not like before. I think one of the Weasleys will die, but not Ron. Hagrid and his brother will win the giants over to the cause. Dobby, the house-elf, will do the same with his kind. Trolls, giants, elves, etc., will rally around Harry to defeat the evil wizards that serve Voldemort and in turn will get equality and freedom they’ve been unable to achieve because of wizarding laws and prejudices. Hogwarts will continue after the battle is won with some new professors and a new day for all wizards, whether ‘pure blood’ or muggle-born.
