All over the country, bookstores will be holding Friday the 13th parties to celebrate the release of the final book in A Series of Unfortunate Events, the wildly popular series for 8-12 year olds by Lemony Snicket. Fittingly, the name of the final book is A Series of Unfortunate Events: The End. According to a recent USA Today article, "The Dickensian series about the misadventures of three smart, resourceful but unlucky orphans is a publishing phenomenon. More than 51 million copies in 41 languages have been sold." What do you and your kids think about the books? Please share your comments.

Although we won’t be attending and parties, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in this series. I think for once, the kids need to win – just this once. I’m crossing my fingers…
I haven’t read them, but my children are addicted! Even my teen, who will be 15 in a couple of weeks, is asking for the book for her birthday.
I love some of these books and some of them just annoy me. I’m getting sort of sick of Olaf ruining the Baudilaires’ lives.I am definately going to a party though!
I havenot read but my daughter who will be 14 in December loves them and has read some twice! Highly recommend from the enthusiasm of my teen daughter!
