It's Women's Equality Day

Cover art of the children's picture book Vote! Women's Equality Day was established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1971. The date was selected because on August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States was officially ratified, and women won the right to vote. One of the things we can do to teach all of our children about the importance of exercising the right to vote is to share children's books about elections and voting with them.
