Los Gatos Black on Halloween

Monday October 29, 2007
Cover art of Los Gatos Black on Halloween If your 8-12 year olds love scary tales, Los Gatos Black on Halloween may be just the book for them. Los Gatos on Halloween is a picture book that will send shivers of delight down the spines of older children who thrive on creepy stories and illustrations. The influence of her childhood in Mexico is reflected in the paintings by illustrator Yuyi Morales. Elements of the Day of the Dead celebration, as well as a sprinkling of Spanish words, can be found in the poem by author Martha Montes, who was born in Puerto Rico. For younger kids, see Halloween Books for 4-8 Year Olds, and for even younger children, Halloween Board Books for Little Ones. What are your children's favorite Halloween stories? Do they like scary stories? Click on "comments" and share your family's recommendations.
