It's TV-Turnoff Week - Are You Participating?
It's TV-Turnoff Week across the United States. Are you and your family participating? if so, I have some suggestions for activities to fill the time your children usually spend watching TV. My first suggestion is to spend additional time reading aloud to your children. Why?
According to "Becoming a Nation of Readers," a national report by the Commission on Reading, "The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success is reading aloud to children."
Do you limit the amount of time your children watch TV? Do you think TV-Turnoff Week is a good way to remind people not to let their kids spend too much time watching TV, or do you think how much TV your family watches is no one else's business? Click on "comments" below and share your opinions.

This is a great idea to have some family time. My 10 year old would be more upset without the tv. We do have to limit the amount of tv she watches. My 6 year old doesn’t watch tv very often and when he does, he doesn’t watch it for long and will turn it off when he’s finished watching. This is a great time to read a great book with the kids.
