Tomie dePaola's Now One Foot, Now the Other

Thursday July 17, 2008
Cover art of children's picture book Now One Foot Now the Other I was delighted when a new hardcover edition of Now One Foot, Now the Other by Tomie dePaola was published several years ago. This children's picture book was originally published in 1981. The simple story poignantly illustrates the power of love between a little boy and his grandfather while gently explaining what it means to have a stroke. When little Bobby learned to walk, his grandfather Bob was at his side encouraging him. Now Bob is recovering from a stroke, and it is Bobby who is at his grandfather's side encouraging him. I recommend Now One Foot, Now the Other for 4-8-year-olds.
