Wednesday October 22, 2008
Cover art of book The Pottersaurus: 1,500 Words Harry Potter Readers Need to KnowIf you are looking for an enjoyable way for the Harry Potter fans in your family to expand their knowledge of words, I recommend the Harry Potter reference book The Pottersaurus: 1,500 Words Harry Potter Readers Need to Know. With this book, readers can learn the meanings of a lot of the more complex words that appear in books one through six of the Harry Potter series, expand their vocabularies and gain a better understanding of the books. These are real words, not the words invented by author J.K. Rowling. They include a number of words found on the ACT/SAT tests, as well as some British terms that are unfamiliar to Americans. The words are presented in an entertaining way, one sure to intrigue Harry Potter fans of all ages. For reviews, interviews, and quizzes related Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, see Harry Potter 7 Spoilers.
