An Interview With Children's Author Jon Scieszka

Wednesday January 7, 2009
Photo of Jon Scieszka children's author and National Ambassador of Young People's LiteratureI was delighted to have the opportunity to interview Jon Scieszka for several reasons. I like his books, particularly The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, and I wanted to know more about his writing. I also wanted to know more about his emphasis on encouraging boys to read and his new role as the nation's first National Ambassador of Children's Literature. I was happy to be able to interview Jon Scieszka and get the answers to some of my burning questions. Are their other authors of children's books you'd like me to interview? What would you like to know about them? Click on "Comments" below and share your ideas. Thanks.

I would love it if you could interview Patricia Reilly Giff. She has written so many wonderful books. She has also been a teacher and now owns a book store.

That’s a great idea. I would also like to interview Cynthia Rylant and Jack Prelutsky, among others.
