Please try “A Fine St. Patrick’s Day” by Susan Wojciechowski. The Irish brogue is already built into the text and the moral of the story is to do what is right (help someone in need).

My family loves Jamie O’ Roarke and the Big Potato, a retelling of an Irish foltale, written and illustrated by Tomie Dapoala.
