Celebrate Passover

Wednesday April 8, 2009
Cover Art Celebrate PassoverThe children's nonfiction picture book Celebrate Passover provides a good introduction to the history, symbols, and activities associated with the Jewish holiday Passover. The book is part of the National Geographic Society's Holidays Around the World series. The strength of the Holidays Around the World series is how well it makes the point that what children might perceive as holidays celebrated only in their own country, state or community are, instead, holidays celebrated by children and their families in countries around the world. While the series is written for children in grades 1-4, the entire family will enjoy the books, their beautiful color photography and accompanying text, and the added information at the end of each book. You'll find other recommended children's books about Passover on my Top Picks list.
