Summer Reading Lists to Take to the Library or Bookstore

Thursday May 14, 2009
If you are looking for good children's books for summer reading, it helps to have a booklist or two of recommended reading that you can take with you to the bookstore or library. In addition to encouraging you to print some of my booklists, as well as some of the lists on my Top 10 Summer Reading Lists: 2009, I encourage you to look at the following two booklists. If you are looking for excellent recently published books, I recommend the latest Notable Children's Books List that is compiled each year by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC)/American Library Association (ALA). If you are looking for children's classics, The Horn Book magazine's Children's Classics, A Booklist for Parents, is excellent and can be downloaded as a PDF.
