Summer Fun and Fluency With Poems for Two or More Voices

Tuesday June 23, 2009
Cover art of the children’s book You Read to Me I’ll Read to You Are you looking for activities that your kids and young teens will enjoy that will also keep their reading skills sharp over the summer? If your kids love to perform for family and friends, they'll have fun with these children's books of poems for two or more voices. Performing the poems is a great way for children 8-14 to learn to enjoy the spoken word and to gain fluency in reading aloud. I recommend starting with You Read to Me, I'll Read to You: Very Short Stories to Read Together, moving on to A Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices and I Am Phoenix: Poems for Two Voices before tackling Big Talk: Poems for Four Voices. Do you kids enjoy poetry? What are their favorites? Click on "Comments" below and post a message.

Hi, Elizabeth,
Mine is not a comment, but a question. How does one get a review or listing on your site? I am author/artist of a recently published novel with over 40 illustrations for ages 8-12, which has already won three book awards. The book is titled Herby’s Secret Formula. You may check it out on Amazon or herbyssecretformula.com.
Thank you, Sue C. Hughey
