Our White House: Looking In, Looking Out

Friday June 26, 2009
Our White House cover art It took eight years to develop and it was created by 108 well-known authors and illustrators. What is it? It's Our White House: Looking Out, Looking In, a project of the National Children's Book and Literacy Alliance (NCBLA). The names of the authors and illustrators involved reads like a who's who of children's literature. This fascinating anthology of American history centers on the White House and its inhabitants. Our White House is 244-pages long and includes a variety of historical fiction and nonfiction. I recommend it for ages 9 to 14 year olds and for the whole family, as well as for classroom use.
