Children's Books That Provide A Sense of Place
Monday June 29, 2009
What are some of your favorite children's books that provide a sense of place? By that, I mean books that depict those things that make a place special or unique. In our family, if we can't get to Maine on vacation, we get there with the Maine children's picture books of award winning author and illustrator Robert McCloskey: Blueberries for Sal, One Morning in Maine, and Time of Wonder, his first picture book in color. Do you and/or your children have a special children's book that transports you to a favorite place? The Secret Garden is our favourit
The Undercover Kids is my favorite. It’s new but an awesome children’s book that takes you to Holland. It’s full of adventure and fun yet it provides your child with information about Holland.
