We in New York are celebrating the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson sailing from the Netherlands to New York and up the river named for him. One of our state historic sites, State Historic Site in upstate New York, has just published a book with games for kids about the celebration called Discover Dutch New Netherland. The book was created with the help of Chatham Hill Games and The Howard and Bush Foundation and features a pull-out game board with historic 1630s map of the river and trading sloop game pieces. The board game is best suited for middle school-aged children, but anyone interested in history and history gaming will find this book engaging.
