Spotlight on Mexican-American Author and Poet Pat Mora

Pat Mora, the author of Tomás and the Library Lady and the editor of Love to Mamá: A Tribute to Mothers, is a Mexican-American author and poet who has written a number of books for adults and children. There's an interesting feature on Pat Mora on the Reading Rockets Web site. It includes an interview, complete with video clips, a short, annotated booklist with cover art, and a biography. According to the feature,

"Her most common themes are family, Mexican-American culture, and the desert. Since growing up along the border as a second-generation Mexican American, Mora has become a valuable translator between Hispanic and non-Hispanic audiences....Mora's charming picture books also reach out across cultures. They are available in English and Spanish, but are often bilingual."
