Banned Books Week 2011 logoBanned Books Week provides a good opportunity for everyone to celebrate the freedom to read and think about how it would feel to have that freedom taken away. Banned Books Week 2011 is Saturday, September 24, through Saturday, October 1, 2011. See All About Book Banning of Books for Kids and Teens for a number of articles on such topics as Banned Books Week, what a challenge has to do with banned books, the most recent annual list of books that have been challenged, the Harry Potter controversy, book burning, authors of books for teens whose books have been censored and/or banned, including Walter Dean Myers, and more. I also hope you'll respond to several related questions, including Should children's books and books for teens be censored? Who should do it?
