Cook-A-Doodle-Doo!I love picture books that are silly and fun, well-written, with appealing illustrations. With Cook-A-Doodle-Doo!, there's also something extra. You can call it a children's picture book about a rooster and his friends learning to cook or a one-recipe children's cookbook. Either way, Cook-A-Doodle-Doo! is a hilarious children's picture book for four- to eight-year-olds.

Cook-A-Doodle-Doo! was created by Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel. The main character is the Little Red Hen's great-grandson. He wants to learn to make Great-Granny's Magnificent Strawberry Shortcake. You and your kids will laugh out loud at the goings-on as he and his animal helpers learn to cook. The book is available in both paperback and hardbound editions. For more fun in the kitchen, try the Green Eggs and Ham Cookbook, which was inspired by Dr. Seuss and his books.
