One of the nice things about summer is that many of us get to see more of our relatives, including parents and grandparents. The bond between grandparents and grandchildren is celebrated in the picture book The Hello, Goodbye WIndow. The book is based on author Norton Juster's observations of his young granddaughter when she came for her weekly overnights with her grandparents. Illustrator Chris Raschka was awarded the Randolph Caldecott Medal in 2006 for the picture book's illustrations. This is a wonderful book for grandparents to share with their grandchildren and for parents to share before and after a family visit to their children's grandparents.
