The paperback edition of J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" will be available for purchase in the United States on Tuesday, August 10, 2004. In an article about the paperback's release in the UK, The Daily Record reported,

"Harry Potter author JK Rowling has sold more than 260 million copies worldwide since launching her first story seven years ago."

The Washington Times reported that "The first printing of the Japanese language version of the popular book total 2.9 million sets, a record for the industry..." The book will be sold in two-volume sets.
