I wanted to read Pippi to my daughter and looked at this edition but much as I admire Lauren Child’s style, I think with the Charlie & Lola tv show, magazine, etc, her distinctive look has become too much associated with the Lola character & that would make it difficult for children to come to Pippi with no preconceptions. So I decided to go for the Quentin Blake version - although his style is just as distinctive - but no big tv show so doesn’t come with all that baggage.
