The Sorcerer's Companion
Subtitled A guide to the Magical World of Harry Potter, this book provides an overview of a number of topics that will intrigue Harry Potter fans. The emphasis is on the history, mythology, and folklore Rowling alludes to in her series. While the book is organized in alphabetical order by topic, the authors don't recommend reading the book straight through. They recommend starting with the section on magic and reading other sections as interest dictates. Topics include astrology, broomsticks, magic wand, sorcerer, wizard, and much more. The book was written by Allan Zola Kronzek, a professional magician and educator, and his daughter, Elizabeth Kronzek, an historian. The lack of an index is frustrating.
