If you live in the United States, this is the cover you will be seeing when J.K. Rowling's seventh book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is published by Scholastic. Illustrator Mary GrandPre created the cover art for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She also illustrated the six previous U.S. editions of the books in the Harry Potter series. According to David Saylor, Scholastic's Vice President and Creative Director and the designer of all seven Harry Potter covers,
The front cover of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows features a dramatic sky of oranges and golds. It depicts 17-year-old Harry with arm outstretched, reaching upward. The structures around Harry show evident destruction and in the shadows behind him, we see outlines of other people.
