Little Golden Books have delighted several generations of young children. What's your favorite Little Golden Book? How old were you when you first heard it? Have you shared it with your kids? What was their response? Share your memories, please. Share your favorite.
The Sailor Dog
- Surprised no one mentioned this one by Margaret Wise Brown. I must have seen this book when I was about five. The pictures by Garth Williams were what stuck with me. Those strange shoes! I was happy to find the book with those shoe pictures, and recall the rest, 40 years later.

J. Morillo's Favorites
- I loved them all - The Poky Little Puppy, Scruffy the Tugboat (the man with the polka-dot tie) The Taxi that Hurried - but one of my all time favorites was The Saggy Baggy Elephant.

LITTLE GALOSHES
- if you have book, I would please like to know - I can buy it from you. [Note from Guide Elizabeth Kennedy: I don't sell books, I just write about them. However, I checked and if you do an online search for Little Galoshes, you will find some sources from which you can purchase the book.]

Poky Little Puppy
- So many wonderful classics, but it has to be The Poky Little Puppy! We just had a baby shower for my new grandson, where all the jungle animals were reading Little Golden Books and all the guests could choose one as a "thank you" gift to take home!

I have a lot of old Golden Books
- The Surprise Doll This was one of my very favorites. I had my Mom read it over and over.
- —Guest Char Hill
The Big Brown Bear by Georges Duplaix
- First owned by my husband as a child, this book became a favorite with our children and now our grandchildren. They would love to have a copy if it ever goes back to print.

My Dolly and Me
- My daughters both loved this book and identified with the little girl in the story. They learned the text by heart and would recite it at the drop of a hat. The cute illustrations also seemed to strike a cord with them. I think I enjoyed it as much as they did!

Home For A Bunny
- I have read this book so many times to my grandchild and foster kids that I at one time could recite it. They loved the book. I am sorry I got rid of it...and the other older Golden Books. Their content was much safer for young children's minds.

My Children's Favorite
- The Taxi that Hurried was my children's favorite.

Do you know the title of this book?
- I'm not sure if this is a Golden Book or not, but my mother-in-law always read it to my kids when they were little. I just know that each page had the wording...."What do I have that needs a..., " such as a straw which needs a big chocolate milkshake or something along those lines. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the title. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Little Red Hen
- My favorite is The Little Red Hen. The hen baked all the bread by herself and enjoyed it with her family. I really loved them all.

The Poky Little Puppy and Two Others
- Great story for any child who loves animals in general and dogs in particular. Special mention to Scruffy the Tugboat and The Taxi that Hurried.
- —Guest Rod
The Poky Little Puppy
- I loved this book so much that I would affectionately call my daughter this when she wasn't moving very fast.

The Poky Little Puppy
- I remember reading this book when I was a kid and I loved it, so now, 25 years later, I had to buy it for my 7 year old nephew when I saw it at the store.
