Bat Costume Takes Flight
- Are you a fan of Stellaluna? Then, you will fancy this bat Halloween costume. First, scour your closet or local thrift shop for your child's size in a long sleeve black shirt and black pants. Next, check out your bargain outlets for a black Dracula cape or fashion your own out of fabric. Don't forget to grab a black headband, two black ponytail holders, and, yes, aluminum foil. You'll also require a sheet of black construction paper, scissors, fabric glue, a paper puncher, and yarn. Assemble your costume in these quick steps. To make the bat headband: Cut off the collar on your black cape. Take the left over fabric and form them into four matching triangles. Stuff a small amount of foil between each pair. Secure all sides with fabric glue. Finally, glue the ears onto the headband. To create the cape: Glue the ponytail holders onto the ends of the collarless cape. For the finishing touches, cut out your black paper mask and tie with yarn. Now, watch your bat take flight!
