Readers Respond: Is your child/teen a "nonfiction kid" who loves informational books?

When he was younger, we used to call our grandson "the nonfiction kid" because his favorite books were all nonfiction children's books on subjects that interested him, like dinosaurs and volcanoes. Do your kids/teens read a lot of nonfiction books? Please share their ages and their favorite nonfiction books. Share favorites

Knowledge is power.

When I was a kid I always preferred non-fiction, though I read fiction, too, and I've passed this trait on to all 4 of my children. My father was a researcher and editor for World Book Encyclopedia and he always would say, "I don't know...let's look it up" in response to many of my questions! I still love reading about just about anything and learning answers to life's little as well as big questions.
