It's not always easy to get boys interested in books, so it's always exciting when you find a book that your boy, whether a young child or a teen, loves. What are some of your favorite books for boys? Please share the titles, authors and the reasons you recommend the books? Share your favorites

Lorimer SideStreets

Lorimer SideStreets specializes in books for reluctant readers. For boys, I recommend Schizo - about a Dan who is trying to balance his schizophrenic mother with his dream of being in a band and having a girl friend. I also recommend Hook Up - about Cody, whose life is going really well until he gets a fatal text message that turns his life into a nightmare. Both are by Kim Firmston and recommended for teen boys.

An Adventure Story

I recommend Hatter's Creek Rescue. It's exciting and isn't very long, which is often a turn-off for some boys.

Facts Rather Than Fiction

One of my sons was like his dad and preferred non-fiction, so I got him books about sport and biographies of his sporting heroes.

Anabar Series

I recommend the Anabar series of ebooks - Anabar's Run and Anabar Rises.

Great Books for Boys

I highly recommend the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz for teen boys and John Feinstein's Last Shot, Cover-Up, and Change-Up for the younger boys.
