From the article: Librarians Recommend Books for Boys
It's not always easy to get boys interested in books, so it's always exciting when you find a book that your boy, whether a young child or a teen, loves. What are some of your favorite books for boys? Please share the titles, authors and the reasons you recommend the books? Share your favorites
Lorimer SideStreets
- Lorimer SideStreets specializes in books for reluctant readers. For boys, I recommend Schizo - about a Dan who is trying to balance his schizophrenic mother with his dream of being in a band and having a girl friend. I also recommend Hook Up - about Cody, whose life is going really well until he gets a fatal text message that turns his life into a nightmare. Both are by Kim Firmston and recommended for teen boys.

An Adventure Story
- I recommend Hatter's Creek Rescue. It's exciting and isn't very long, which is often a turn-off for some boys.

Facts Rather Than Fiction
- One of my sons was like his dad and preferred non-fiction, so I got him books about sport and biographies of his sporting heroes.

Anabar Series
- I recommend the Anabar series of ebooks - Anabar's Run and Anabar Rises.

Great Books for Boys
- I highly recommend the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz for teen boys and John Feinstein's Last Shot, Cover-Up, and Change-Up for the younger boys.
